  • PS: exocrine pancreatic sufficient; PI: exocrine pancreatic insufficient. #: note that most bacteria with mechanically labile membranes such as Tenericutes (Mycoplasma species) are lost during the processing of the samples. Direct sequencing of unprocessed respiratory specimens yielded a share of ∼3% of bacterial reads assigned to Tenericutes. However, species with hard-to-digest cell walls, like Nocardia or Mycobacteria, were not detected in unprocessed specimens.
