Abstract
In recent years, the seasonal allergic rhinitis (SAR) due to their extremely high prevalence among the population has finally become a global problem of mankind. Since the effectiveness of treatment of patients with SAR largely depends on the timely elimination of contact with the causative allergen or reducing sensitivity to it, so the issue of specific diagnosis and ASIT is extremely important.
We observed 62 patients who underwent pre-seasonal ASIT with pollen allergens with concomitant use of DLL. The average age of the patients was 34.3±1.0 years. There were 54.8% men and 45.2% women. Patients who were included in the research, had not previously carried out ASIT. Serum IgE and IgG levels in blood serum before and after ASIT were determined in all patients.
The results of the research showed that after conducting pre-seasonal ASIT in combination with DLL, the average concentration of IgG in the blood serum of the examined patients increased by 41.0% compared to baseline (p˂0,001). The dynamics of the content of total IgE in the blood serum of patients was positive, which was manifested by a significant decrease in the median IgE from 221.4±64.8 IU / ml to 168.4±53.3 IU / ml, i.e., 23.9% (p˂0.01).
Conclusions: It can be assumed that ASIT in the presence of DLL influenced the level of total IgG and IgE in the blood serum. Changes in IgG can influence an increase in the concentration of IgG4 antibodies, which compete with IgE antibodies for the allergen. It is the increase in the concentration of these antibodies may indicate the effectiveness of ASIT in the treatment of allergic diseases.
