Novel diagnostic approaches and innovative therapeutic strategies in patients with lung cancer, interstitial lung disease, obstructive airway disorders and infectious diseases are discussed. The authors from the different Assembly 14 subgroups focus on the key take-home messages given new study results, and place them in the context of current knowledge in these areas.At the 2019 ERS International Congress, encouraging results of numerous trials in the field of interventional pulmonology, imaging and ultrasound were presented.
