In general, host inflammation might have a great impact on the reduction of leptin production which promoted the proliferation, differentiation and activation of hematopoietic cells, participating in the development of PTB [14]. In addition, experimental study suggested that the reduced serum leptin level in PTB might suppress cellular immunity, which was essential for fight against MTB and worsen disease outcomes [15].
